Stories from the Old Dutch Church's 326 years are collected in an engaging and colorful new 138-page book published by the Friends of the Old Dutch Church & Burying Ground. The book includes many entertaining true tales about the church and its members and is fully illustrated with color photos, art and maps. More than a history, it gives fascinating glimpses into life in the early Colony, folk art traditions in the Burying Ground gravestones, models for Washington Irving's short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," local heroes of the Revolution, remarkable pastors, and many colorful characters associated with the church and community over the years.
